The MICCAI community has been pushing the frontier of research and innovation in the areas of Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention. An important role of our common efforts is to translate these discoveries into effective devices that support clinical work and improve health.

In 2020, we will open the door to the future generation of technologies and entrepreneurs at the Startup Village that will take place at the MICCAI 2020 conference (https://www.miccai2020.org/en/). The Village will host activities in the form of networking, mentorship and presentations in support of product development and business growth for its participants. Companies accepted in the Village will present in a pitch competition and the winner will be decided by popular vote. All activities will be virtual.

Companies will be in the early stages of their operations to qualify to participate in the Startup Village. In particular, Latin American companies are strongly encouraged to participate. A strong interaction with the Mentorship Program (https://www.miccai2020.org/en/MENTORSHIP-PROGRAM.html) and with the Latin American scientific organizations (http://www.sipaim.org/society/) will be encouraged.

SELECTION CRITERIA

In 2020, we will accept up to ten startups in the program. The Startup Village Committee will follow these selection criteria:
Impact and innovation of the technology
Relevance of company and product to the MICCAI areas and activities
Benefits to the company from participation in the program
