The 16th International Symposium on Medical Information Processing and Analysis will be held in Lima (Peru). As in previous editions, this symposium will bring together researchers from Latin America and around the world to communicate their results, developments and research experience and to promote the creation of technical and scientific collaboration networks. This event is focused on the field of medical images and associated technologies and applications.
Dr. Prateek Prasanna is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics, Stony Brook University. He received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University (US) in 2017. Prior to that, he obtained his Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rutgers University (US) in 2013 and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Calicut (India) in 2010. Dr. Prasanna has authored over 25 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications, over 45 abstracts, and has 2 issued patents in the fields of medical imaging informatics and computer-aided diagnosis. He has served on the program committee for the SIPAIM International Symposium on Medical Information Processing and Analysis. His research focuses on developing data analytics tools for comprehensive disease characterization and treatment response assessment in thoracic and neuro-oncology. His research has won several innovation awards and received recognition from the Ohio Secretary of State and House of Representatives.
